Minister for Defence’s Working Visit to Jordan

Minister for Defence Dr Ng Eng Hen made a working visit to Jordan on 19 May 2024. Dr Ng had an audience with His Majesty King Abdullah II ibn Al Hussein, and called on Prime Minister and Minister of Defence Dr Bisher Al Khasawneh and Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates Ayman Safadi. Dr Ng also visited the Jordanian Armed Forces (JAF) Headquarters, where he was accorded a Guard of Honour and hosted by Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff Major General Yousef Al-Huneiti.

During the meetings, Dr Ng thanked Jordan for supporting and facilitating the SAF’s recent humanitarian aid airdrop operations which delivered more than 20 tonnes of food supplies into Gaza. Both sides also discussed the security situation in the region.

The visit underscores our warm and friendly defence relationship, with regular professional exchanges between our two armed forces.
